This Workplan describes the
scope of services requested by Caltrans and outlines the procedures and methods we will employ to
complete the project.
PROJECT LOCATION AND PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
The Stockton Improvement Project extends along 3.6 miles of SR-99 between north of the Arch Road
interchange to the Crosstown Freeway (Post Miles 15.0 and 18.6) in San Joaquin County. The
approximate project location is depicted on the Vicinity Map,Figure 1.
Caltrans proposes operational improvements to SR-99 within the project boundaries including
upgrading to a six-lane freeway by constructing a concrete median barrier, shoulder widening, and
interchange and bridge improvements. Acquisition of additional right-of-way(ROW) property will be
required for proposed freeway widening and improvements to local connector streets and construction
of interchanges and bridge improvements.
PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND
We previously prepared an Initial Site Assessment(ISA) for the project dated November 15, 2007. The
ISA provides a summary of potential contaminated properties identified within the defined
Environmental Study Area that may impact selection of design alternatives, ROW acquisition,
temporary construction easements and planned construction activities. We recommended additional site
investigation for identified potentially contaminated properties prior to partial or full parcel takes
during ROW acquisition. 0td
The objective of To to. 82 is to identify potential hazardous material/waste impacts within the
following parcels planned for partial or full ROW acquisition:
3160 Gold Valley Drive, Suite 800 0 Rancho Cordova,CA 95742-7515 0 Telephone 916.852.91 18 ■ Fax 916.852.9132
