FEATHER RIVER CANYON <br />Key Waterways and Rail Access Points <br />Canyon Subdivisio <br />MP 321.4 (Poitola) to MP 298.50 (East Portal- Sloat) <br />The Middle Fork of the Feather River roughly parallels the Union Pacific Railroad <br />from east of Portola to the east portal of the tunnel at Sloat (MP 298.50), and then flows <br />away from the rail oad in a west and southwesterly direction. <br />This stream is designated a Wild and Scenic River Area and is considered extremely <br />sensitive from an environmental viewpoint. Access points downstream of Sloat are virtually <br />non-existent except for Red Bridge River access which is accessible via National Forest <br />Highway 120. <br />This segment hasenerally good access from Highway 70 at many points along the ROW. <br />MP 321.40 - Gene al access from the city of Portola <br />MP 313.50 - Clio road access point <br />MP 310.00 - Blarisiden Pass viaduct <br />MP 309.25 - Mohawk Road crossing and Mohawk Ranger Station <br />MP 308.75 - Little Bear road crossing <br />MP 305.00 - Camp Layman Road <br />MP 302.00 - Old Mill Road <br />MP 301.00 - Sloat ommunity access <br />MP 300.00 - Carm k Mine Road <br />MP 298.50 - East Mortal of Tunnel access (from Carmak mine Road?) <br />C. <br />
