SPCC Response Procedures — Quick Reference Guide <br />INITIAL OBSERVER - The first observer of a release of oil including but not limited to <br />diesel fuel, lube oil, journal oil, used oil, hydraulic fluid, or gasoline must take the <br />following actions immediately to: <br />1) PROTECT YOURSELF <br />2) ALERT OTHERS IN THE AFFECTED AREA. <br />3) IF SAFE TO DO SO, CONTROL THE SPILL <br />If immediate danger to people, property, or the environment. <br />1) Call 911 <br />2) Call the Respon a Management Communication Center at (888) 877-7267. Provide <br />RMCC with as <br />uch of the following information as you can safely collect: <br />✓ Type of a <br />ergency (fuel spill, derailment, etc.) <br />✓ Location of emergency (name of facility/yard) <br />✓ Status of <br />employees (Injuries, etc.) <br />v" Date and <br />"me emergency occurred <br />✓ Effect on <br />rain operations <br />✓ Equip=quanbty <br />involved (storage tank number) <br />✓ Name <br />of material release <br />3) Contact your Supervisor <br />or MYO, SYO, MTO, MIO, MMM or MTM <br />4) Alert others in thaffected area to move to a place of safety upwind of the release. <br />Information rega�ding emergency meeting points, staging areas, and windsock <br />locations is available in the facility HMERP. <br />5) Stay in place of afety and await arrival of the Fire Department or other qualified <br />response person el. <br />If NO immediate danger to people, property, or the environment. <br />1) Call the Response Management Communication Center at (888) 877-7267. Provide <br />RMCC with as much of the following information as you can safely collect: <br />✓ Type of emergency (fuel spill, derailment, etc.) <br />✓ Location of emergency (name of facility/yard) <br />✓ Status of employees (Injuries, etc.) <br />✓ Date and time emergency occurred <br />✓ Effect on train operations <br />✓ Equipment involvled (storage tank number) <br />✓ Name and quantity of material release) <br />✓ Cause of discharge <br />2) Contact your Su7rvisor or MYO, SYO, MTO, MIO, MMM or MTM <br />
