3) Stay in place f safety and await arrival of the Fire Department or other qualified <br />response pers nnel unless it is safe to take actions to stop the spill or control <br />the release p oduct as follows: <br />❑ Obtain a MSDS on product to determine personal protective equipment and spill <br />response equipment needed. The MSDS can be found in MSDS books located at <br />the following 16 cations: <br />Engineering Vehicle MSDS Books <br />V_ astewater Treatment Plant Building <br />Supply Warehouse <br />R,MCC <br />❑ Identify and obtain and personal protective equipment or PPE needed to respond to <br />a spill. <br />o Identify and ob ain SPILL RESPONSE EQUIPMENT <br />❑ Determine the I kely path of the released product. Drainage and flow information for <br />the location oft ie spill can be obtained from Tank Report — Discharge Scenario and <br />Facility Maps. <br />❑ Cover any affedted or potentially affected drain inlets with drain covers or other <br />available materials. <br />❑ Contain the spil�by placing booms or constructing an earthen berm downstream of <br />the flow of prod ct. <br />❑ Attempt to stop the release at the source by closing open valves or plugging holes <br />obviously causi g leaks. <br />
