Union Pacific Railroad
containec
in local topographic lows.
Facility Significa
it undiked oil use areas at the yard drain to the
Drainage separation
plant through the yard drainage system or to
Desc: local top
graphic lows. Drainage within the WWTP (IW -1) is
by overland
flow back to the oil trap. The majority of the
diesel shop
area (VM1-4) drains into the industrial sewer
toward the
separation plant. Drainage entering the yard
system fl
ws by gravity to the sump north of the diesel shop
area. A fl
:)at gauge automatically activates the sump pump
to pump
he accumulated liquids to the WWTP plant. Some
drainage
on the southeast side of the shop building flows to
the local
ow sump and is also directed to the WWTP plant.
Drainage
at the plant is directed to the oil trap and oil is
skimmed
off and pumped into the used oil tank (TNKO-
0295). Waste
water is pumped through the main process
pumps to
system treatment. Sludge is accumulated in the
sludge tank
(TNKO-0294) and then properly disposed.
Hazardous Hazardous
materials used at the site are limited to a 5
Material gallon colitainer
of gasoline which fuels the portable high
Desc: pressure
steam cleaner.
Hazardous Used oil
is considered hazardous waste in California and is
Waste Desc: accumulated
in Tank TNKO-0295. Process sludge sometimes
meets the
hazardous waste criteria. It is stored in tank
TNKO-02
4. No other hazardous wastes are routinely
generated
at this facility.
Containment The separation
plant area slopes down to the oil trap,
Structures where ac
umulated liquids are recycled through the
Desc: separation
plant.
Security Lighting.
High level alarms.
Systems
Desc:
Escape There are
two available routes for vehicles. Either north to
Route Desc: the 3rd Street
entrance or south to the 8th Street entrance.
Comment:
http://home. www. uprr. coni/depts/EnvMgmt/Ceps/cfm/Reports/Info_Plan.cfm 11/18/03
