IGEOCON
CONSULTANTS,INC.
G E O T E C H N I C A L ■ ENVIRONMENTAL n MATERIALS
Project No. 59200-06-89
November 17,2009
Mr. Saiyed Ali
Caltrans District 10 Environmental Planning 06/176
1976 Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Stockton, California 95205
Subject: DISTRICT 10 MONITORING STATIONS
STATE ROUTE 99, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
CONTRACT NO. 06A1141
TASK ORDER NO. 89,EA NO. 10-OK3201
PRELIMINARY SITE INVESTIGATION WORKPLAN
Dear Mr. Ali:
In accordance with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Contract No. 06A1141 and
Task Order(TO)No. 89,we submit this Workplan for Preliminary Site Investigation(PSI)activities to
be conducted at three sites along State Route 99 (SR-99) in San Joaquin County, California. This
Workplan describes the scope of services requested by Caltrans and outlines the procedures and
methods we will employ to complete the project.
PROJECT LOCATION AND PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
The three project locations are located within state right-of-way along SR-99 near the communities of
Ripon, Stockton and Lodi. The approximate project locations are depicted on the attached Vicinity Map,
Figure 1. PSI activities will be conducted at the following locations:
• Site #5 - SR-99 northbound offramp to Jack Tone Road, approximate Post Mile (PM) 2.3 near
Ripon
• Site#22 - SR-99 northbound offramp to Eight-Mile Road, approximate PM 25.4 near Stockton
• Site#41 - SR-99 northbound onramp to Acampo Road, approximate PM 33.7 near Lodi
Caltrans proposes to install traffic monitoring stations at each of the three project locations.
PURPOSE AND PROJECT SCOPE
Caltrans identified each of the project locations as potentially being impacted by petroleum
hydrocarbons and heavy metals based on adjacent land use activities. It is our understanding that
Caltrans will use the PSI results to inform construction contractors of potentially impacted soil within
the project boundaries for soil management and disposal evaluation, and construction worker health
and safety purposes.
Cj.rr..r►.ei U
3160 Gold Valley Drive,Suite 800 0 Rancho Cordova,CA 95742-7515 0 Telephone 916.852.9118 ■ fax 916.852.9132
