Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney(EH]
III Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2010 8:36 AM
To: 'Rex Smith'
Subject: RE: Quik Stop 76, 1030 S Olive, Stockton
Good morning, Rex.
The letter that was drafted last week is going through the review process and has not left our building yet.
However, in the draft letter I did mention that monitoring wells in an area of contamination may only be destroyed
by removing the contents by drilling out the original borehole and filling it with grout. Since MW-1 has had a
history of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination, it should be drilled out and not pressure grouted. You do not
have to submit a well destruction work plan but I need confirmation that MW-1 will be destroyed according to the
San Joaquin County Well Standards.
Thank you, Rex.
Vicki McCartney,Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Phone: (209)468-9852
Fax: (209)468-3433
Email: v.mccartneyfesjcehd.coni
From: Rex Smith [mailto:rsmith@horizonenvironmental.net]
Sent: Monday, October 04, 2010 4:05 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: RE: Quik Stop 76, 1030 S Olive, Stockton
No problem, Vicki.
II
A though Horizon has not received the forthcoming EMD letter, we want to initiate the permit process.
Horizon requests that the well be destroyed by pressure grouting. Would that be acceptable to the EHD?
Thank you for your consideration,
Rexford Smith, PG 5307
HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
4970 Windplay Drive, Suite 5
El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
Tel: (916)939-2170
Fax: (916)939-2172
From: Vicki McCartney [EH] [mailto:vmccartney@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Monday, September 27, 2010 8:35 AM
To: Rex Smith
Subject: RE: Quik Stop 76, 1030 S Olive, Stockton
Good morning, Rex.
was in the field all day Friday and did not listen to your voice message nor receive this email until this
10/5/2010
