(AGE) in response to EHD correspondence
dated February 6, 2008, and has the following comments.
In the WP, AGE proposes to install ten ground water monitoring wells, MW-8 through
MW-17, to define the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted
groundwater in sandy soil units commonly encountered between 40 to 60 feet below
surface grade (bsg), 80 to 85 feet bsg, and 100 to 110 feet bsg.
EHD approves the WP. Soil samples should be collected to verify lithology to set the
screen intervals of the proposed monitoring wells at proper depths. The shallow wells
should be screened across the water table which was approximately 22 and 25 feet bsg
during the month of May 2008.
The EHD approves the revised WP. Submit to the EHD the necessary well permit
applications, the $89.00 permit fee and the $315.00 inspection fee for each parcel
drilled; and copies of the access agreements for each off site parcel drilled and an
encroachment permit for the boring(s) in the public right of way. Once the well permits
have been approved, notify EHD of the proposed schedule for the work. The EHD
requires a minimum 48-hour notice prior to initiation of any field work on the site. The
EHD directs that the proposed work be implemented by January 23, 2008.
If you have any questions, please contact Frank Girardi, Senior Registered
Environmental Health Specialist at (209) 953-7868.
 l "
Frank Girardi, REHS Nuel C.
