The <br />Desc: <br />engine crankcase oil is removed by siphon to AST -12 for <br />accumu <br />ation and shipping. Once engines are repaired they are <br />resuppli <br />d with oil from the Lube Oil tank(AST-11) Blue flag <br />protecti <br />n and constant supervision are used during transfer <br />operatio <br />s. Drain and outlets are checked for leakage before <br />loading <br />nd departure. <br />Activities Desc: <br />Access Route <br />Desc: <br />Flow Desc: <br />All of the <br />flow in the diesel shop area (VM -1) is into drip pans and <br />directed Ito the separation plant through the facility drainage <br />system, for contained in local topographic lows. Flow from the lube <br />oil tanks would be contained in a concrete basin. Flow from the <br />waste of <br />load -out would be into Walker Slough. <br />Facility <br />The ma <br />ority of the diesel shop area drains into the yard drainage <br />Drainage Desc: <br />system t <br />ward the separation plant. Drainage entering the yard <br />system <br />ows by gravity to the 5,000 -gallon lift station north of the <br />diesel s <br />op area. A float gauge automatically activates the pumps. <br />The flo <br />is carried through a 4"PVC pressure main which is locted <br />parallel t <br />the west shoulder of the main road. Drainage from the <br />tank tru <br />k transfer area at AST -11 & 12 flows to the local low <br />sump an <br />is also directed to the separation plant. Drainage at the <br />plant is <br />irected to the oil trap and oil is skimmed off and pumped <br />into theaste <br />oil tank (AST -9). Waste water and oil are pumped <br />through <br />he main process pumps to system treatment. Sludge is <br />removed <br />and drained by gravity to the sludge tank (AST 3) and <br />then pumped <br />to tank cars for removal through the sludge load <br />spot. <br />Hazardous <br />Material Desc: <br />Hazardous <br />The wa <br />to oil in AST -12 is considered Hazardous Waste under <br />Waste Desc: <br />Title 22CCR. <br />This requires that accumulation not exceed 90 days <br />and shipments to the Recycler be manifested. <br />Containment <br />Drip pans and service pits are used to contain oil spills during <br />Structures <br />engine srvicing. Waste oil and Lube oil tanks (AST -11 and 12) <br />Desc: <br />have a c ncrete containment dike around them.
