(AGE)
to discuss the need for interim remediation and the need for further site investigation at the above
referenced site. The following parties participated in the meeting:
• Mr. Mike Infurna, San Joaquin Environmental Health Department
• Mr. Tim Cuellar, AGE, consultant for Pacific Car Wash (4405 Pacific Avenue)
• Mr. Bill Little, AGE, consultant for Pacific Mini Mart (4511 Pacific Avenue)
• Dr. Calvin Lee, AGE, Senior Project Geologist
The following items were discussed during the 17 December 2002 meeting:
1 . A domestic water well was located by AGE at the residential property located immediately
west of the site. Although the domestic water well was inferred to be cross-gradient from the
site, Mr. Infurna was concerned about the well ' s status; since the area is served by municipal
water, the well may no longer be operational and may need to be properly abandoned. Mr.
Infurna recommended that AGE contact the property owners to verify the well' s status.
2 . AGE discussed the need for interim remediation (i.e. ground water extraction) at the site to
implement hydraulic control and inhibit further offsite migration of the dissolved petroleum
plume. Between October 1998 and June 2001 ( 11 sampling events), ground water samples
collected at monitoring well MW-9 did not detect any petroleum constituents of concern
(well MW-9 is located approximately 275 feet east of the site); however, between September
2001 and November 2002 (6 events), TPH-g, BTEX compounds, MTBE and TBA were
detected at concentrations as high as 4,000 micrograms per liter (µg/1).
