r 04
N
18 December 2002
AGE Project No. 96-0229
Page 2 of
of increasing MTBE concentrations at well MW- l0A (located 375 feet northeast of the site)
have been reported since March 2001 .
3 : AGE discussed the site conditions that were conducive for a ground water extraction pump-
and-treat system; AGE identified the First Water Zone at depths between 25 feet bsg and
45 feet bsg. In addition, AGE referenced apparentlypositive results from interim remediation
at the adjacent Pacific Mini Mart site.
4. Mr. Infurna advised that a site conceptual model will need to be included in an upcoming
report, and additional lateral and vertical investigation (i.e. multi-level monitoring wells) will
be necessary to complete site assessment.
5 . Mr. Infurrla requested from AGE that (1 ) a table be submitted to him which includes
analytical results from the 25 November 2002 ground water monitoring event (2) that a
lithologic cross section be completed between wells MW-5 and MW- 12 to evaluate the
down-gradient migrational pathways, and (3) that a cross sectional view (snap-shot) of the
site be submitted with upcoming quarterly reports that includes current ground water
analytical data.
As a result of the above referenced meeting, AGE recommends at this time that an interim
remediation work plan be submitted for a ground water extraction (pump-and-treat) system to halt
further down-gradient migration of the plume of contamination; upon SJCEHD approval, AGE will
submit a detailed cost estimate to the UST Cleanup Fund for cost approval.
