(USCS) <br /> Boring logs are summarized in Appendix A <br /> 3 6 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> All sampling tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection were thoroughly rinsed with clean <br /> water after washing with a solution of Alconox All Geoprobe rods were cleaned prior to <br /> advancement in each probing <br /> 4.0. FINDINGS <br /> 41 SOIL PROFILE <br /> Soil encountered at the site consisted primarily of sands and silts a pale brown to dark brown, fine <br /> to coarse-grained sand was encountered from surface grade to depths of approximately 30 feet in <br /> each probing, medium to course-grained sand with gravel was encountered at depths between 30 and <br /> 35 feet bsg, and dark brown silt was encountered from depths of 35 to 40 feet bsg Small lenses of <br /> sand and silt were encountered throughout the soil profile in most probe borings Groundwater was <br /> encountered from each boring at a depth of approximately 37 feet bsg Boring logs are included in <br /> Appendix A Figure Nos 3 and 4 (Cross Section A -A ' and Cross Section B - B', respectfully) <br /> depict general lithology beneath the site in cross sectional view <br /> 42 FIELD EVIDENCE OF HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL <br /> Strong petroleum hydrocarbon odors were detected in soil probe borings P-2, P-3, P-7 and P-8 from <br /> depths of approximately 15 to 40 feet bsg Organic vapors were detected using a PID in soil sample <br /> duplicates at concentrations up to 1,824 parts per million (ppm) <br /> Slight petroleum hydrocarbon odors were detected in soil probe borings P-4 and P-5 at approximately <br /> 20 to 40 feet bsg Organic vapors were detected in soil sample duplicates from these probings at <br /> concentrations up to 100 ppm <br /> 4 3 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> A total of twenty-six soil samples were submitted to a State-certified laboratory for analysis TPH-g <br /> Iwas detected from soil samples collected in probe borings P-2, P-3, P-4, P-5, P-7 and P-8 at <br />
