1.0 Introduction <br /> ' IT Corporation has been retained by Cargill Corporation to perform a pre-construction field <br /> site assessment and sampling associated with a pending relocation to a new berth at the Port <br /> of Stockton, Stockton, California, (refer to Figure 1). A Phase I Site Assessment has already <br /> ' been performed which included examining county records for the site and interviewing <br /> persons formerly affiliated with the site. The current phase of work will involve a field <br /> investigation of the property including the following tasks: <br /> - Visual inspection to note any discoloration or surface anomalies that would <br /> ' indicate possible former suspicious surface activities <br /> ' - Installation of a monitoring well and a soil boring at the north and south ends <br /> of the parcel. <br /> ' - Sampling of soils from the boring and monitoring well for the presence of <br /> BTT-X, (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene), and TPH, (total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons). <br /> ' - A water sample will be taken after developing the monitoring well and analyzed <br /> for volatile organics, BTEX, TPH, TDS (total dissolved solids), conductivity, <br /> ' chlorides and nitrates. <br /> - A final report documenting the fmdings of the investigation will be prepared and <br /> submitted to Cargill <br /> - The field investigation will be conducted in accordance with the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services Site mitigation Program Guidelines for Work <br /> Plan and Report Submittal, Section III: Environmental Assessment Review <br /> Process. <br /> 2.0 Site Background <br /> ' The site is located at Port Road 21, at the Port of Stockton, Stockton, California. It is a 4.21 <br /> acre pie shaped parcel, approximately 450 feet x 462 feet on the straight sides, boardered by <br /> ' M7J11-01-91/ENG/9476 1 <br />
