1
1
I
OMNI MODEL 17 PRV
' PROPANE POWERED INTERNAL COMBUSTION , SOIL
VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
The Omni system is designed and engineered to perform
fsoil vapor extraction of fuel hydrocarbons and
combustion of those hydrocarbons in an internal
combustion engine
Soil vapor extraction wells are installed at the
contaminated site . The Omni system is then attached
to the well system via a manifold . Soil vapors are
extracted from the wells at a maximum rate of 160
Icfm. The vapor goes directly into the intake system
of the engine to be combusted as a make up air and
fuel
The system has an operating range of 100 to 3600 RPMs
Ifor the engine with a maximum of 160 cfms of
extracted vapor at 3600 RPMs . The system is
completely closed and the only emission source is the
Iengine exhaust . An automobile type catalytic
converter is the final portion of the exhaust system.
Propane produces no emissions and Lab tests show a
95% or better reduction of hydrocarbons from the
soil vapor stream. The system will also combust
vapors extracted from water streams such as air
stripping towers or in situ air stripping systems ,
with the some efficiencies .
I
