Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation Report
Canepa's Car Wash(Pacific Avenue)
' January 21,2002
Page 10
monitor well survey indicate that initial survey data for site monitor wells MW-6 and MW-7 was
Ierroneous and that historical water level contours estimated using the erroneous data (indicating
mounding in the vicinity of MW-I and MW-2) were inaccurate. The data from the addition of the
monitor wells from this investigation and the new survey data indicate that no mounding is present at the
I site. Detailed results of the new EDF monitor well survey and the effect on historical groundwater flow
information for the site will be included in a groundwater mounding study report to be submitted by
Condor under separate cover. The groundwater elevation contours estimated for the sampling event
conducted in October 2001 at the site is included in the Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report,
Fourth Quarter, Octoher 2001, dated January 14, 2002. The groundwater elevation contours indicate a
relatively uniform gradient to the east.
6.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Condor recommends that quarterly groundwater monitoring continue at the site to confirm the
preliminary results described in this report. Additional quarterly monitoring is necessary to establish
groundwater quality in deep site groundwater (MW-12d) and to confirm the results of the water table
groundwater sampling (MW-9, MW-10, and MW-11). Recommendations for additional groundwater
investigation and/or remediation, if necessary, can be made in subsequent quarterly monitoring reports.
7.0 LIMITATIONS
Condor developed the interpretations and conclusions presented herein in accordance with generally
accepted principles and practice. Conclusions presented in this report are professional opinions based on
limited information obtained at the time of our site visits. Condor has endeavored to determine as much
as practical about the site using conventional practices given our scope of services. Condor makes no
representation as to the subsurface conditions at locations or times other than those sampled by our
employees and reported in this document. If any changes are made or errors found in the information
utilized in this report, the interpretations and conclusions contained herein shall not be considered valid
unless the changes are reviewed by Condor and either appropriately modified or re-approved in writing.
Condor's involvement in the work performed at this site has been limited to observing the installation of
monitor wells, collecting and recording of depth-to-water measurements, measuring of field parameters,
collecting of samples, shipping of samples, compiling data provided by analytical laboratories, and
analysis of field data. Condor is not responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information
collected and developed by others at this site and at adjacent sites.
I
ICONDOR
