Canepa's Car Wash <br /> 6230 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California Decemher 30, 1993 <br /> Interim Status Report, Phase II Investigation Page: 6 <br /> E Again, the water levels rose MW-1 = + 0 50', MW-2 = + 0 55', MW-3 = + 0 45, and <br /> MW4 =+ 0 50', averaging + 0 50' <br /> 6.0 Geology <br /> This site, at 6230 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California, is located in the northern end of <br /> California's San Joaquin Valley This area is monotonous geologically, representing <br /> primarily the alluvial flood and delta plains of the mayor rivers and tributaries of the region <br /> The region persisted as a lowland or shallow marine embayment during the entire <br /> Cenozoic period The surface of the Valley is composed of unconsolidated Quaternary <br /> sediments <br /> The lzthologic units encountered in these bonngs were interbedded inorganic nucaceous <br /> clayey silts and silty clays with numerous sands and silty, clayey sands of varying <br /> thicknesses This is typical of the valley fill deposits in the i egnon <br /> 7.0 Hydrology <br /> California and Federal Governments have mandated that virtually all groundwater is <br /> beneficial for current or future use unless it can be demonstrated that no beneficial use is <br /> known <br /> This aquifer is considered to be of beneficial use and as a result, must be protected from <br /> contamination Those identified uses include agriculture and industrial, as well as <br /> potential use for animal or human consumption <br /> 8.0 Conclusions and Recommendations <br /> A soil contarrunation plume exists down to the groundwater table under the former fuel <br /> dispensing islands, which is the same area as the present fuel island canopy <br /> Groundwater has been impacted in all current monitoring wells (MW-1, 2, 3 and 4) <br /> It is the recommendation of WHF, Inc to continue with the lateral definition of <br /> groundwater contamination as originally proposed in a WHY report of May 13, 1993, <br /> Progress Report on Tank Removal and Fuel Line Leak and Work Plan For Monitonng <br /> Wells, by installing four 2" monitoring wells as shown on Figure 11 Once the <br /> contamination is defined, a Problem Assessment Report (PAR) will be submitted to the <br />
