1
REPORT
QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING
1 THIRD QUARTER - JULY 1997
' Canepa's Car Wash
6230 Pacific Avenue
' Stockton, California
' August 14, 1997
10 INTRODUCTION
Condor Earth Technologies, Inc , (Condor) conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring at the
Canepa's Car Wash facility located at 6230 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California (Figure 1,
Appendix A) on July 17 and 18, 1997 The groundwater monitoring was conducted at the request of
Mr Remo Canepa, facility owner, in response to a recent communication from Mr Ronald Rowe of
the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) directing
continuation of the quarterly groundwater monitoring The groundwater samples were analyzed at a
certified laboratory for total petroleum hydrocarbons, quantified as gasoline (TPH-G), for benzene,
toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylene (BTEX), and for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) as requested
by the PHS/EHD
This report includes a description of the field procedures and laboratory analyses conducted
during the July, 1997, quarterly monitoring A discussion of the current and historical groundwater
data is presented in Section 5 0 (Discussion of Results)
I2 0 SUMMARY OF RESULTS
The following summary describes the data collected during the most recent quarterly
monitoring
• Groundwater Analvses Gasoline was detected in the groundwater samples from MW-
1 at 7 9 mg/L, MW-2 at 86 mg/L, MW-4 at 0 10 mg/L, MW-6 at 0 06, and SV-3 at
280 mg/L BTEX constituents were detected in groundwater samples from MW-1,
MW-2, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, and SV-3 ranging from 0 5 µg/L to 73,000
µg/L MTBE was detected in groundwater samples from MW-1 at 410 µg/L, MW-2
at 230 jig/L, MW-6 at 14 µg/L, and SV-3 at 35,000 lig/L TPH-G and BTEX
constituents were not detected at or above the laboratory reported detection limit in the
groundwater samples collected from MW-3 and MW-8 MTBE was not detected at or
w above the Iaboratory reported detection limit in groundwater samples collected from
MW-4, MW-5, MW-7, or MW-8 The laboratory results are presented in Table 1,
below, and Figure 2, Appendix A
• Groundwater Elevation The average depth to groundwater was approximately 40 8
feet below the ground surface at the site The groundwater elevation ranged from
28 37 to 27 39 feet below sea level (bmsl) The groundwater elevation was
approximately one foot lower than the average elevation measured in April, 1997
Groundwater elevation contours are shown in Figure 3, Appendix A
CONDOR
