ff_ fTAMRT9417-A3M0U 9ER-
ak G-WR
SECTION 112.7(A)(3)(III)DISCHARGE AND DRAINAGE CONTROLS
According to the City of Stockton,"Stockton s stormwater is collected in catch
basins and transported, untreated, directly into local rivers, creeks, and sloughs,
and eventually to the Delta. Best management practices (BMPs) is the primary
method to stop contaminants from entering the system."
Chances of a spill occurring that may reach a navigable waterway are vey
limitedr-emote. All bulk oil storage containers have appropriate secondary
containment. The storm drain nearest to the diesel fuel storage tanks is equipped
with a petroleum filter insert to capture incidental released material before it can
discharge into the storm sewer.
Spill kits are located at the fuel island, within the vehicle maintenance shop,
adjacent to the west side generator, and adjacent to the east side generators to
address unlikely releases that occur beyond secondary containment;for releases
during oil handing into and out of storage containers, and the oil/water
separator; and for releases from oil-filled equipment (electrical transformers).
These areas are inspected weekly and monthly for evidence of discharge or
damage.
SECTION 112.7(A)(3)(IV) COUNTERMEASURES FOR DISCHARGE DISCOVERY
Weekly inspections of petroleum oil tanks, transformers,as well as all hazardous
materials and hazardous waste tanks, are conducted to ensure that no containers
are leaking. In addition, employees are required to report any spill or evidence
of a spill to any supervisor for corrective action.
In the event a discharge has occurred, Casey Hays (Process Manager) or Dennis
Silva (Facility/Maintenance Manager) is notified immediately and he will
evaluate the discharge for cleanup procedures.
If it is determined that a spill must be cleaned up by a third party,The Martin-
Brower Company, L.L.C.has a contract with the CURA Emergency Services for
this service.
Refer to Appendix C,"Oil Discharge Response Plan."
8
