The commercial operators are charged with the responsibility of complying <br /> with these instructions and procedures. <br /> SAND-OIL INTERCEPTOR (OIL/WATER SEPARATOR) UNLOADING PROCEDURES <br /> 1. The vacuum truck service used to remove material from the 2,500-gallon <br /> capacity sand-oil separator (S/O) is required to check in with the <br /> Facility/Maintenance Manager at the vehicle maintenance building and <br /> proceed to the loading/unloading area with aforementioned personnel or <br /> meet,as applicable,maintenance or production personnel at site. <br /> 2. Prior to transfer,the vacuum truck and the S/O are inspected. The <br /> inspection will include the following items: drains,valves,hoses&caps, <br /> piping,fitting,etc. Any deficiency or potential problem is corrected <br /> immediately. To preclude work stoppage, the area supervisor is notified if <br /> the loading/unloading cannot be accomplished in a timely manner. <br /> 3. The drainage area near the S/O is inspected and the storm drain covers are <br /> deployed and other spill response materials is made ready. <br /> 4. Driver provides constant vigilance to his equipment and the S/O while the <br /> transfer operation is proceeding. <br /> 5. Truck gauges are monitored to determine the available capacity of tank prior <br /> to filling. <br /> 6. All safety regulations are observed at all times. This includes,but is not <br /> limited to,chocking wheels prior to transfer. <br /> 7. When the transfer is complete,care is to be taken to prevent back siphonage <br /> conditions or excess product from remaining in the lines,which will spill <br /> when the connection is broken. Action will be taken to contain and clean up <br /> any material spilled. There is to be no blowing out or disposal of residue <br /> products in the tank or truck or their hoses on Facility property. <br /> Any residue products are the hauler's responsibility. <br /> 8. Prior to leaving the site,the tank truck and the receiving vessel are inspected <br /> as in Item#2 above. Any deficiency or potential problems are corrected <br /> immediately. <br /> 9. Any spillage, abnormalities,or potential problems (leaking valves,etc.) are <br /> reported to any salaried employee for appropriate action. <br /> 10.
