In its letter, the EHD
requested a workplan for evaluating the site as a potential source of 1,2-DCA in groundwater
and feasible options of remediation. The EHD requested that this workplan be prepared and
submitted by October 1, 2003. In a conversation between you and Mr. Ben Heningburg of
ENSR, on September 26, 2003, the EHD agreed to a 90-day extension of this deadline. ENSR
plans to evaluate the site as a potential source of 1,2-DCA identified in groundwater in the
vicinity of the site. Following that evaluation, ENSR will recommend appropriate actions.
If you have any questions regarding this request please contact Ben Heningburg at your
convenience at (916) 288-4315.
Sincerely,
ENSR International
M rk Na gle, E Be Heningbur
Department Man ger Senior Project Manager
Attach.
CC.'
