In 1990 there is a contour,I think it's <br /> Exhibit A.it's 1990 is a contour map of the benzene plume as constructed by a consultant who <br /> was working on the project at that time then Exhibit B represents the same area,benzene contour <br /> and you can see that the dimensions,the maximum dimensions in the uh dawn gradient extent of <br /> the plume has unchanged,has been unchanged in 9 years of continuous monitoring. Vlrith regard <br /> to the MTAF,l wanted to point out some facts,there were 5 wells on February 4, 1999 that had <br /> detections of MTBE.that ranged from a low of 2.3 micrograms per liter to 10 in most-of those <br /> wells,there were non detections in those same wells in 4 previous quarters and in some cases 8 <br /> previous quarters and there were non detections in subsequent monitoring;events. The detections <br /> of MTBE at the site then are low in concentration,they had been sporadic:both spatially and <br /> temporarily as was indicated previously,there's no recognizable pattern that one would see in <br /> terms of a release in subsequent plume impact to groundwater,but rather it's consistent with <br /> what the L3SD5 described in their studies of MTBE as atmosphere of washout,exhat4t gets in <br /> the rainwater,dawn the storm drains,leaks in the groundwater to get through cracks in the <br /> surface area spills things like that,gets temporarily and spatially. Urn I would like to also point <br /> out that this gas station is in an area that the San Joaquin County blood Control District has <br /> mapped as an area of sea water in and adjacent to an area of sea water 'intrusion it's in an area <br /> where the ground water has been aggressively pumped in the past resulting in draw down and <br /> land subsidence in the area_ To think that one would put a well in this particular area to pump <br /> li 4 ion because the Cost of putting a <br /> water on it world,in my judgment,require serinu, Gonstderat p g <br /> well in this area that is known to be subject to sea water intrusion and land subsidence could <br /> 9 <br />
