3 a
10 February 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0173
between 5 and 15 feet north-northeast of well AW-1 to assess potential vapor intrusion and
to confirm cleanup progress of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil.
• Soil boring B-13 will be located between 5 and 15 feet north of well AW-2 to confirm
interim remediation SVE progress at the site.
A single soil vapor sample will be collected from borings B-11 and B-12 at a depth of approximately
feet bsg. Field procedures for advancement of soil vapor borings and collection of soil vapor
samples are presented in Section 3.2. Soil vapor samples will be analyzed by a State of California
Department of Public Health Services (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Methods 8015 Modified (TO-13) and
• Volatile aromatic compounds(benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,xylenes:BTEX)and volatile
organic compounds(VOCs)Oxygenated compound(methyl tertiary butyl ether: MTBE)in
accordance with EPA Method 8260 (TO-15). '
Soil borings B-11, B-12 and B-13 will be advanced to depths of approximately 40 feet bsg
(estimated depth to first encountered ground water). Total depth of each boring may vary slightly
according to geologic conditions encountered during drilling. Field procedures for soil sample
collection is presented in Section 3.2.; selected soil samples from B-11, B-12 and B-13 will be
analyzed by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel(TPH-g)in accordance with
EPA Methods 8015 Modified,
• Volatile aromatic compounds - benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) in
accordance with EPA Method 8260, and
• Fuel additives including 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA),ethylene dibromide(EDB),tertiary
butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tert butyl ether (ETBE), tert amyl methyl
ether(TAME) and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE)by EPA Method 8260 Modified.
Laboratory reports for the soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality as control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
s
