10 February 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0173
2.3. INSTALLATION OF SVE REMEDIATION WELLS VF WARRANTED)
Soil borings B-11,B-12 and B-13 are proposed to be advanced to depths of 40 feet bsg (estimated
depth to first encountered groundwater). If the situation should arise where significant hydrocarbon-
impact is encountered from any of the three soil borings, then"AGE proposes to convert the
-5 hydrocarbon-impacted soil borings into 2-inch diameter SVEwells,screened between 15 and 35 feet
fsv bsg• -c
fit.. .
Upon completion, newly installed S E wells will be connected to the existing manifold SVE piping
network, and SVE remediation operations resumed. Addition of these SVE wells into the existing
interim SVE remediation system should augment the extraction of remaining soil vapor from the
core-area of petroleum-impacted soil beneath the former UST area and increase overall SVE
efficiency.
2.4. SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION REBOUND TEST
SVE operations have been suspended at the site since November 2006,therefore performance of an
SVE rebound test is warranted at this time. SVE and IAS operations should be re-started and allowed
k to operate for a period for 24-hours(one day).Following 24-hours of operation, SVE_concentrations
2. should be monitored and sampled from vapor extraction wells VW-1 througYVW-7.Following_
sample collection, SVE operations will be suspended for evaluation of SVE samples.
2.5. REPORT PREPARATION
Results of soil boring advancement and SVE well installations (if warranted) will be presented in
a report of findings. The report will be in a format acceptable to the RWQCB(Appendix A -Reports,
Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of
Underground Storage Tank Sites), and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional
Geologist.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist. Procedures for soil boring advancement, soil vapor sample collection, soil
sample collection, SVE well installation (if warranted), and SVE rebound testing procedures are
described below.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
1
