P &LS& mor-k- 4y_ S <br /> Dear Mr Wong k¢ Y <br /> 6 9 ro dC. <br /> In accordance with your request made during our meeting on 22 ay 19980, Advanced <br /> GeoEnviroiunental,Inc (AGE)has prepared the following addendum to the Corrective Action Plan - <br /> May 1998 (CAP) for the site located at 2402 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California (the site) The <br /> following addendum to the CAP discusses the proposed number of soil vapor extraction (SVE) and <br /> in-situ air sparging (IAS) wells warranted for remediation of the "core" petroleum hydrocarbon- <br /> impacted area at the site <br /> SOIL V,4POR EXTRACTION <br /> Based upon data collected at the site during an eight-hour SVE pilot test performed on 14 July 1997, <br /> AGE concludes <br /> • A theoretical radius of influence in soils for an applied vacuum of 45 inches of water and an <br /> induced vacuum of 0 1 inches of water was estimated at 28 feet Utilizing the existing SVE <br /> wells VW-1 and VW-2,-we estimate that five additional properly positioned SVE wells <br /> should be adequate to effectively remediate the 'core' area of petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> contamination Proposed and exl9ting SVE well locations with theoretical radii of influence <br /> are illustrated in Figure 10 <br /> • 1n general, cleantin duration using SVE (cnmhined with TAS) tynically range-, frnm ¢eve ral <br /> months to several years Based upon the estimated volume and concentrations hydrocarbons <br /> in the "core" area ,and fl-,e presence of fine-grained soils (silts, sandy-silts and silty-sands), <br /> l we anticipate a 90 p:rc ent reduction of hN droc.arbons within 18 to 24 months <br /> 4005 North Wilson Way, Stockton, California 95205 <br /> Telephone(209)467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118 <br />
