' 26 July 2001
AGE-NC Project No 95-0173
Page 2of4
Protection Agency, 1985) Prior to mobilization, the monitoring well location will be clearly marked
and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert
2 2 CPT DRILLING AND GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
AGE proposes to drill two groups of CPT soil borings at the site to define the vertical extent of
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water Proposed CPT soil boring locations are illustrated in Figure
2
Based on petroleum-impacted soil and ground water encountered during previous investigations,
AGE proposes CPT soil borings in the following locations
• Between 15 to 25 feet east-northeast of groundwater monitoring well MW-1, and
• Between 5 to 15 feet southeast of groundwater monitoring well MW-13
The CPT borings shall be advanced to approximately 150 feet bsg utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted
CPT drill rig equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods, however, total depths of the borings
may vary in response to hydrogeologic conditions encountered and the results of field screening
during drilling activities
Grab ground water samples will be collected in intervals of porous and permeable material Selected
ground water samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Methods
5030/8015M,
• Volatile aromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes BTEX) with
methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) by EPA Method 8020, and
• Methanol, ethanol, ethylene dibromide (EDB), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), tertiary
butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(RIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether (ETBE), tert amyl methyl
ether(TAME), and confirmation of MTBE by EPA Method 8260 Modified
Laboratory reports for ground water analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
