SECTION 3 <br /> PARTICIPANT QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Training Requirements <br /> All ERM and subcontractor personnel working on a regular basis on the <br /> Tracy Yard site will have completed an extensive training course and have <br /> previously worked at least three days at a hazardous waste site under the <br /> supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor. The training course <br /> must be designed to meet the requirements of 29 CFR 1920.120 (8 CCR <br /> 5192 in California). The training course must consist of a combination of <br /> 40 hours of classroom and field exercises plus an annual 8-hour refresher. <br /> Workers on site only occasionally for a specific limited task and who are <br /> unlikely to be exposed over PELs and published exposure levels will have <br /> completed a minimum of 24 hours of instruction and a minimum of one <br /> day actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, <br /> experienced supervisor. <br /> All site participants will be required to show proof of current training (less <br /> than 1 year since initial or refresher training) prior to field activities. <br /> Intended participants without current training documentation will be <br /> barred from site activities. <br /> At least one person on site will maintain current first aid/CPR training <br /> certification. The person or persons possessing the training will be <br /> identified prior to commencement of field activities. On-site supervisors <br /> and Project Managers will have received training in managing hazardous <br /> waste cleanup operations through formal and informal training sessions, <br /> practical experience, or a combination of the two methods. <br /> Medical Surveillance <br /> All on-site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors will be required to have <br /> a written statement from a licensed physician stating they have had a <br /> medical examination which meets the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120. <br /> 3-1 <br />
