• Advising the PM and HSO on matters relating to health and safety on <br /> this project; <br /> • Recommending appropriate PPE and air monitoring instrumentation <br /> to protect personnel from potential hazards present on site; <br /> • Performing field audits, when necessary, to monitor the effectiveness <br /> of the HSP and to ensure compliance with it; <br /> • Conducting or directing personal exposure monitoring where required <br /> and where deemed necessary to determine the adequacy of protective <br /> measures and PPE specified by this HSP; <br /> • Maintaining contact with the PM to regularly evaluate project <br /> conditions and new information which might require modification to <br /> this HSP; <br /> • Working with the PM to ensure that sufficient PPE is available at the <br /> site; and <br /> • Conducting briefing meetings, when necessary, to apprise personnel of <br /> the contents of this HSP and the project hazards. <br /> Field Personnel <br /> All field and subcontractor personnel are responsible for following the <br /> health and safety procedures specified in this HSP and for performing <br /> their work in a safe and responsible manner. Specific requirements <br /> include: <br /> • Obtaining a copy of this HSP and reading it, in its entirety, prior to the <br /> start of field activities; <br /> • Signing the Health and Safety Signature Sheet acknowledging receipt <br /> and understanding of this HSP; <br /> • Bringing forth any questions or concerns regarding the content of the <br /> HSP to the HSO, PM, or DIHS prior to the start of work; <br /> • Reporting accidents/incidents and the presence of potentially <br /> hazardous working situations to the HSO and PM; and <br /> • Complying with the requests of the appointed HSO. <br /> 2-3 <br />
