radius of influence (ROI) to ground water extraction, based on pilot test
data, is anticipated to be 100 feet. Dual phase extraction well placement,
the ground water ROI for each dual phase extraction well, and the
corresponding ground water plume capture zone for A-zone ground
water are shown in Drawing G-1.
Ground water analytical data from recent monitoring events was
reviewed to establish expected VOC concentrations in ground water
extracted at dual phase extraction well and corresponding design
parameters for the Treatment System. Extracted ground water VOC
concentrations are presented in Table 4-3. Due to the turbulent conditions
in the extraction tube, it is anticipated that approximately 90 percent of
VOCs in ground water will be stripped to the vapor phase. Therefore,
VOC concentrations in ground water influent to the Treatment System
will be lower than in ground water within each extraction well.
TABLE 4-3
Influent VOC Concentrations from Dual Phase Extraction Wells
Constituent VOC Concentration in Ground Treatment System Influent
Water Ground Water Concentration
(ug/L) (dual phase extraction well
contribution)
u /L
cis 1,2-Dichloroethene 87.6 8.8
1,1-Dichloroethane 42.3 4.2
Vinyl Chloride 103.4 10.3
Benzene 2.3 0.2
Total HVOCs 253.4 25.3
Total AVOCs 15.9 1.6
4-7
