found to be present at a depth of 30 feet in any of the borings, then those boring will be
completed as groundwater monitoring wells, up to a maximum of six wells. Soil samples from
the borings and groundwater samples from the wells will be analyzed for benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons, gasoline fraction (TPH-G).
Three of the borings and/or well samples will also be analyzed for TPH, diesel fraction
(TPH-D). A report of findings will be prepared and presented to the EHD.
Cost Estimate_fot GASI Scope of Work
Because the investigatory approach recommended by GASI is very open-ended, the scope of
+ services and the resulting costs of the initial phase of the investigation could be highly variable.
For example, the minimum level of effort is completion and sampling of six soil boring which
is a rather modest program. However, a maximum scope, using the GASI approach, could
include the installation of six monitoring wells which can be two to three times the cost of the
minimum program.
f To provide you with a responsive quotation, we have provided cost estimates for the GASI scope
of work in terms of unit prices for various tasks. We have then assembled a total cost estimate
from those unit costs into two packages which we believe represent a minimum level of effort
and a likely scope of effort for the investigation.
Unit Costs Estimates
• Install, sample and abandon one bore hole to 40 feet
Without Diesel Analysis $ 2,650
With Diesel Analysis $ 3,025
• Convert one borehole to a monitor well to 60 feet, take additional
soil samples and one groundwater sample and analyze for the
required parameters
Without Diesel Analysis $ 4,380
With Diesel Analysis $ 4,865
• Prepare one project report covering only soil boring activities $ 6,586
• Prepare one project report covering soil boring and
groundwater investigation activities $ 6,905
Com site uotation for Minimum Sco f—W-p
• Install six borings
(3 w/Diesel Analysis @ $3,025) $ 9,075
(3 wo/Diesel Analysis @ $2,650) $ 7,950
• Complete one soil investigation project report $ 6.586
Total Estimate $23,611
vROPOSA Rco." 2
