Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc. <br /> of Northern California <br />' 03 July I997 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0130 <br /> Mr Ed Endich <br /> TOP FILLING STATION <br /> 101 South Wilson Way <br /> Stockton, CA 95205 <br /> Subject: Remedial Action Work Plan - July 1997 <br /> TOP FILLING STATION <br /> 101 South Wilson Way, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Endlch <br /> In accordance with your request,Advanced GeoEnvironrnental, Inc (AGE)has prepared the enclosed <br /> Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) detailing the design of a modified remediation system for the <br /> "core" petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted area at 101 South Wilson Way in Stockton, California Upon <br /> your review, we recommend transmitting copies of the revised RAWP to Mr Ron Rowe of the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Ms <br /> Elizabeth Thayer of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> General duration and cost estimates for several remedial alternatives were included in the Cvi i ective <br /> Actron Plan -March 1996, prepared by AGE In a letter dated 22 October 1996, the PHS-EHD <br /> requested the submittal of a specific design and cost estimates foi to-1 dlIation and 013CI d11G1] of the <br /> modified soil vapor extraction/in-situ air sparging (SV—E/IAS) remediation system for the ' core" <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted area Based upon the design proposed with the enclosed RAWP, <br /> we have the following estimates <br /> SOIL VAPOR EXTRAC77ON <br /> • Cleanup duration using SVE (combined with ]AS) tvnicdEiv ranges from ge-"Frai mnnths to <br /> several years Based upon the estimated volume and concentrations hydrocarbons in the <br /> "core" area and the presence of finer-grained soils (silts and clays), we anticipate an 75 to 90 <br /> percent reduction of hydrocarbons within 12 to 24 months <br /> • The approximate cost for installation of a thermal oxidizer-based SVE system, including the <br /> installation of five additional SVE wells, will be $20,000 00 to $30,000 00 <br /> • The estimated cost for operation, maintenance and monitoring (including unit rental) will be <br /> 1803 West March Lane, Suite A, Stockton,California 95207 <br /> ITelephone(209)956-0264 FAX(209)956-0700 <br />
