' 25 April 2005
AGE-NC Project No 95-0128
' Page 7 of 8
Extracted organic vapor concentrations measured with the OVM were low when compared to the
analytical results from the soil-vapor samples The highest concentration of organic vapor measured
with the OVM was 887 ppm from the influent of the SVE system during the initial momtonng event
(Table 2)
' 3 4 MASS OF RECOVERED HYDROCARBONS - SVE
The hydrocarbon mass (TPH-g) removed during the operating period was calculated using the
' following equation M = C•Q•t
where M= cumulative mass recovered (kg)
C = soil-vapor concentration (kg/m3)
Q= extraction flow rate (m3/hr)
t= operational period, in hours
The estimated mass of hydrocarbons removed was based on laboratory analysts of soil-vapor
. samples,the flow rate and operational time The mass of extracted hydrocarbons was calculated for
the time period using average hydrocarbon concentrations of influent soil-vapor sample data,
averaged air flow rates and duration of operation The operational results are summarized in Table 2
A calculated 1,509 kg(3,327 pounds), or an approximate volume of 532 5 gallons of hydrocarbons
as gasoline were extracted by the SVE system between 25 January and 23 March 2005 The volume
1 and mass calculations and the concentration trends of the influent samples over time are displayed
in Appendix F
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of remediation operation
• A volume of 663,858 gallons of water were extracted between 14 December 2004 and 23
March 2005 A total of 2,712,799 gallons of water have been extracted since the inception
of ground water treatment in October 2001
During the reporting period,approximately 0 186 lbs of MTBE and 0 04 lbs of benzene and
169 lbs of TPH-g were removed from the site and treated by the ground water extraction
system A total of 10 54 lbs of MTBE, 4 81 lbs of BTEX and 73 12 lbs of TPH-g have been
removed since October 2001
1 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
