AM
EM, L
, - t "
V
l
x?
e
Wiggins & Associates, Stockton, California / Project 309101 July 31, 1991
A block building, reportedly used to house electrical transformer
equipment, is also located on the site. prior to the mid to late
1970's poly chlorinated bi-phenols (PCB's) were commonly found in
cooling oils used in this type of equipment. TMC found no
information available at the sicpHS regarding the use of PCB-
containing materials or discharges of these materials at the site.
visits at the site revealed no visual evidence of chemical residues
emanating from this building.
5
Mr. Mike Infurna, -%ith the SJCPHS, reported that recent ground
water gradient measurements taken at a neighboring site indicated
ground water flowed in a north easterly direction. Mr. Infurna
" also indicated that, over time, ground water of the general site
vicinity may vary from a north easterly to a south westerly
direction.
Further review of agency files also revealed two fueling stations,
located in the vicinity of the site, with unauthorized discharges
of fuel materials. it is not known if fuel discharges at these
neighboring facilities have impacted the subject site.
A review of a 1966 aerial photo show features that indicate the
site and general vicinity were either, vacant or used as
agricultural production. Review of subsequent aerial photos (1985
and 1.989) , show features of the site and vicinity similar to
existing conditions. There were no features observed in these
photos indicating activities which may have adversely impacted the
site (i.e. open refuse pits; topical staining, surface ponds, etc.)
On June 24, 1991, nine soil, borings were drilled at the site. Five
of the borings were terminated near the soil - ground water
interface, approximately 27 feet below grade. Four borings were
terminated approximately 2-1/2 to 5 feet below grade. Soil samples
TMC Environmental, Inc. / San Pablo, California 8 of 12
