Pagel of 3
Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Mike Infurna [EH]
Sent: Thursday, November 03, 2011 9:04 AM
To: 'Hackman, Scott'
Subject: RE: UP Tracy (720 E 6th St, Tracy, CA)Well Destruction Permit Application
Attachments: WELL BORING PERMIT JULY 2011 ($125) FINAL.pdf
Scott,
found an opportunity to check out your email and the attachments.
Unfortunately, you did not send me all the correct information I requested on my
previous emails to your or Melissa.
In order to determine if the wells you propose to pressure grout qualify, I need to
determine if they are contaminated. I'll need the most current soil, groundwater,
or vapor data for this. Contaminated wells can not be pressure grouted.
Additionally, the well construction must be known and the casing un-obstructed
to full depth of initial construction. Obstructed wells can not be pressure grouted.
Have you sounded each well casing to see if they are un-obstructed? I will
before any destruction procedures are started. You can do it now or be surprised
when I do it.
And the lab data. Without it, a well does not qualify for pressure grout.
Fee amount looks ok. When do you think the check will be at the EHD?
Do you have an estimate of the time for this phase? Two weeks? Three? More?
need to know so I can schedule either myself or other inspectors. Well
destructions require our presence.
The EHD issues boring/destruction permits after receiving all of the forms and
fees needed, and in the order they are received. The EHD can not confirm
appointments/requests for drilling for sites where the permit has not been
issued. Our policy is to try and complete the processing of your complete permit
submittal (including receipt of the fees) within 10 working days. As I've done
today, after we receive your permit application submittal, we typically conduct a
cursory review to see if all the documents we need are included. If not, we advise
you of the concern so you can get us the correct ones. Submitting a collection of
forms and telling/asking for a drill date/appointment in two days is not acceptable.
After all of the needed forms and fees are here, the review and processing will
begin as priorities allow. This is why we advise of the 10 working day period.
11/3/2011
