Yosemite, Manteca, CA
Three Single Wall Fiberglass Tank Entry and Inspections
Gentlemen:
Please find enclosed our permit package with appropriate permit forms, $234.00
fee, subcontractor qualifications and resumes. Also noted below is a brief
chronology on how we intend to proceed with the project.
As you are aware Scott Co. has been contracted by ARCO Products Co. to enter
and inspect the two (2) 12000 and (1) 10000-gallon single wall fiberglass tanks
at the above referenced facility.
Upon approval of our permit package from San Joaquin County Environmental
Health and Stockton Fire Department, we will schedule an official date with the
local agencies; our tentative date for entry is approximately the week of
March 1, 1999.
Prior to the entry date Scott Co. will remove the concrete over layment over the
three (3) turbine pump ends, and expose them to tank top. The product lined will
be drained and the turbine pumps removed prior to rinsing the tanks.
The tanks will be pumped free of product by ARCO Products Co. Scott Co. will
subcontract ECI Inc of Stockton to pump and rinse the tanks prior to tank entry
all tanks will be rinsed in one day.
It will be the responsibility of Containment Solutions to de-gas the tanks and cut
a 24"x24" hole for entry. Containment Solutions will follow strict confined space
entry permit procedures while performing the tank entries. The tank preparation
and entry procedures will be overseen by Scott Co. and a Certified Industrial
Hygienist, as required by SJCEH.
