CHRONOLOGY
CHEVRON STATION # 9-6465
5608 NORTH PERSHING AVENUE
STOCKTON CA
1986
03-26-86 PHS/EHD makes site inspection this date. There are 3-10,000 gallon fuel tanks, a 1,000
gallon waste oil tank and a 75 gallon cement lined waste oil sum on the site. Inspection
g g P1
report requests the waste oil sump be pumped out and filled with cement.
08-18-86 PHS/EHD responds to a caII from the Fire Dept.: fuel product is surfacing and running into
the street. Leak appears to be from a product line approx. one foot south of the western
dispenser island and one foot west of the west island in the main driveway. Excavation
revealed pipes madeof galvanized metal Iying on clay soil. No leaking pipes noted
immediately and workers will continue to excavate until the leak is found. Notice to abate
is issued requiring an investigation to determine the extent of the contamination.
08-20-86 PHS/EHD makes site visit. All three product lines approx. one foot south of the western
3
dispenser islands were found to be leaking and were still leaking at time of site visit.
i
08-21-86 PHS/EHD sends RP a letter requesting a WP to investigate the extent of the contamination. '
09-15-86 PHS/EHD visits site. All piping is being replaced with new single wall fiberglass piping.
I
08-27-86 PHS/EHD files a UAR for the product piping release. The piping was repaired and the fuel
tanks on-site precision tested and passed. i
10-00-86 Three monitoring wells installed this date to a total depth of approximately 32'BGS. No soil '
samples were obtained from any of these wells. Slight odors were noted during the drilling
of MW#2,which was located by the area where the piping joins the tank pit. Depth to water
was approximately 24.4' BGS.
10-06-86 Monitoring wells MW#1,MW#2 and MW#3 sampled this date. Groundwater flow was to
the north northeast.
MW#1 showed TPH as gasoline and BTX at 1,700 ppb, 160 ppb, 170 ppb, and 150 ppb,
respectively.
MW#2 showed TPH,as gasoline and BTX at 650 ppb, 76 ppb, 60 ppb, and 59 ppb,
respectively.
MW#3 showed TPH,as gasoline and BTX at 410 ppb, 3.0 ppb, 4.0 ppb, and 4.0 ppb,
respectively.
1987
12-30-87 PHS/EHD reviews soil vapor survey. RP will be submitting WP for the installation of
additional MWs at the site.
1988
01-20-88 Monitoring wells MW#4, MW#5, MW#6 and MW#7 installed this date to a total depth of
