PAGE 3
The 10,000 gallon regular gasoline tank, located southernmost in the tank pit area, showed
TPH as gasoline and BTEX at 3.4 ppm, less than 0.05 ppm, less than 0.1 ppm, less than 0.1
ppm, less than 0.1 ppm, respectively, for the western sample and showed TPH as gasoline and
BTEX at 3800 ppm,less than 0.05 ppm, 160 ppm,77 ppm,and 430 ppm,respectively,for the
eastern sample. EDB was not detected at a detection limit of 0.5 ppm.
PIPING
The piping results showed nondetect for TPH as gasoline and BTEX in three samples, but
showed TPH as gasoline and BTEX at 720 ppm, 10 ppm, 62 ppm, 19 ppm, and 100 ppm,
respectively,in sample LT-1, located in the area where the piping entered the tank pit area,
along the southern edge of the building. The other sample to show TPH as gasoline and
BTEX at 8.0 ppm,0.39 ppm, 1.5 ppm,0.22 ppm,and 1.1 ppm,respectively,was LT-3,located
along the western wall of the building, near the southern corner. All samples showed
nondetect for EDB at a detection limit of 0.5 ppm.
WASTE OIL PIT
The waste oil tank showed TPH as diesel at 49 ppm, BTEX at less than 0.05 ppm, less than
0.1 ppm, 0.11 ppm, and 0.89 ppm, respectively. Cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel and zinc
were detected at 0.14 ppm, 40 ppm, 6.1 ppm, 45 ppm, and 46 ppm, respectively. Arsenic,
beryllium, copper, selenium and silver were also detected at 14 ppm, 0.40 ppm,33 ppm,2.4
ppm,and 0.21 ppm,respectively. The halogenated volatile compound(EPA 5030/8010) 1,13-
trichloroethane was detected at 0.015 ppm,and the following semi-volatile compounds (EPA
355018270) were detected' benzo(a)anthracene at 0.250 ppm, bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate at
1.500 ppm, chrysene at 0.180 ppm, fluoranthene at 0.270 ppm,2-methylnaphthalene at 1.400
PPM, napthalene at 0.770 ppm, pentachlorophenol at 0.220 ppm, and pyrene at 0.330 ppm.
The laboratory also found some other semi-volatile organics by mass spectrometry, but they
were not confirmed with standards.
09-14-88 Monitoring wells MW#1 through MW#7 sampled this date. Depth to water was
approximately 29'- 30' BGS. Flow direction was to the north northeast.
MW#1 showed TPH as gasoline, BTEX and 1, 2-DCA at 530 ppb, 120 ppb, 49 ppb, 15 ppb,
79 ppb, and 0.4 ppb, respectively.
MW#2 showed TPH as gasoline, BTEX and 1,2-DCA at 350 ppb, 99 ppb, 29 ppb, 11 ppb,
44 ppb, and 0.3 ppb, respectively.
MW#3 was not sampled. MW#4 showed TPH as gasoline,BTEX and 1,2-DCA at 150 ppb,
2.8 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, and less than 1.0 ppb,
respectively.
MW#5 showed TPH as gasoline,BTEX and 1,2-DCA at 50 ppb, less than 0.1 ppb, less than
1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, and less than 0.1 ppb, respectively.
MW#6 showed TPH as gasoline,BTEX and 1,2-DCA at 240 ppb,3.4 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb,
less than 1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, and 0.7 ppb, respectively.
MW#7 showed TPH as gasoline,BTEX and 1,2-DCA at 270 ppb,less than 0.1 ppb,less than
1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, less than 1.0 ppb, and 0.2 ppb, respectively.
