04 December 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 99-0592
Installation Work Plan, dated 23 May 2001.
2.3. GROUND WATER EXTRACTION(AQUIFER PUMPING) TESTS
AGE proposes to utilize the installed ground water monitoring well MW-8 to perform a 48-hour
continuous extraction pilot test to: 1) evaluate the general zones of capture (radius of influence)
achievable during ground water extraction at the site, 2)obtain general aquifer characteristics such
as hydraulic conductivity, storativity, transmissivity, and draw-down at variable pumping rates, and
3) evaluate the feasibility of ground water extraction as a remedial alternative at the site.
During the 48-hour pump tests, grab ground water samples will be collected from the effluent line
during selected portions of the test, approximately every 2 hours. The ground water samples will be
collected into laboratory-supplied,40-milliliter(ml)volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials;care will
be taken to ensure that visible air bubbles are not present in the vials after filling and capping.
Following collection, the samples will be appropriately labeled, placed on ice,and kept in a cooler
until delivered to a CDPH-certified analytical laboratory for analysis for the constituents listed in
Section 2.2.. Chain of custody protocols will be used to document sample custody transfer from the
field to the laboratory; a chain of custody form will accompany the samples.
2.4. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analyses, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and results of the sampling and analyses. Conclusions, applicable recommendations, and
maps will be included in the report. The report will be in a format acceptable to the CVRWQCB and
will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist.Procedures for monitoring and extraction well installation and development,
soil sampling, equipment decontamination, and sample handling are outlined below.
3.1. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
The following procedures will be followed for monitoring well installation, development, and
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
