Box 2048 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> Attention: Mr. Japtej Gill, Contract Manager <br /> Subject: LODI MAINTENANCE STATION <br /> LODI, CALIFORNIA <br /> CONTRACT NO. 53W202 <br /> J� TASK ORDER NO. 1075F1000-12 <br /> L SITE ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> Dear Mr. Gill: <br /> In accordance with Caltrans Contract No. 53W202 and Task Order No. 10-5F1000-12, Geocon <br /> Environmental Consultants has performed environmental engineering services at the subject site. <br /> The project site consists of the Caltrans Lodi Maintenance Station, an equipment maintenance <br /> facility, located at the northeast corner of East Pine Street and the State Highway 99 frontage road <br /> in Lodi, California. The approximate site location is depicted on the Vicinity Map, Figure 1. <br /> r GENERAL OBJECTIVES <br /> The objective of this Task Order was to provide information regarding potential soil and <br /> groundwater petroleum hydrocarbon impacts in the vicinity of the former underground storage <br /> tanks (USTs) and to attempt to define the lateral and vertical extent of impacts if encountered. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> One 1,000-gallon diesel UST and one I 000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST and associated product <br /> piping were formerly located south of the gas and oil building with the dispenser island formerly <br /> „ located east of the gas and oil building. The USTs, product piping, and the associated dispenser <br /> island were removed from the site by SEMCO on November 30, Notes prepared by the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) tnsp for indicate that "no soil <br /> samples taken under tanks" due to the presence of a concrete slab. The tanks were described as <br /> having "no visible holes", however, soils removed from around and under the tanks "had a strong <br /> hydrocarbon odor."
