Section 03100: Concrete. <br /> 17 <br /> 16 1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> is <br /> 20 Standards, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) <br /> 21 and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). <br /> 22 <br /> ' 23 1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Shop Drawings and catalog cut sheets shall be submitted for manhole, frames and covers, <br /> 26 and sections in accordance with Section 01300. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> 29 PART 2: MATERIALS <br /> 30 <br /> 31 2.01 FRAMES AND COVERS <br /> 32 <br /> 33 A. All castings for manhole frames and covers shall be of tough, uniform quality, gray iron, free <br /> 34 from cracks, holes, swells, cold shuts or other defects and be of workmanlike finish. <br /> 35 Castings for frames and covers shall conform to the requirements of the "Specifications for <br /> 36 Gray Iron Castings," Class 25 (ASTM A48). <br /> 37 <br /> 38 B. Horizontal surfaces of manhole cover seats and under surface of the seat cover which rests <br /> 39 upon the frame shall be machined. After machining, it shall not be possible to rock any <br /> 40 cover after it has been seated in any position in its frame. Manhole frames and covers <br /> 41 shall be designed for heavy duty, H-20 traffic loading. All manholes shall be provided with <br /> 42 a nominal 24-inch diameter cover. Manhole frames shall be capable of receiving standard <br /> 43 non-shifting manhole extension (riser) rings. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 C. Manhole frames and covers shall be Neenah Foundry R-2573-1 with Type F grate, or equal. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 2.02 PRECAST CONCRETE MANHOLE SECTIONS <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Standard manholes shall be constructed of precast reinforced manhole sections conforming <br /> 50 to ASTM C478 and as shown.
