All masonry shall be shipped, stacked with hay or straw protection or other suitable ' <br /> 5 protective device, and shall be similarly stacked off the ground on the site. In addition, all <br /> 6 masonry stored on the site shall be protected from the weather and staining with the use <br /> 7 of tarpaulins or other covering approved by the Engineer. ' <br /> 8 <br /> 9 <br /> 10 PART 2: PRODUCTS ' <br /> 11 <br /> 12 2.01 MATERIALS - MASONRY <br /> 13 <br /> 14 A. Concrete masonry units (CMU) shall conform to ASTM C90, lightweight, Type I, hollow, load <br /> 15 bearing open end units of 8 inches x 16 inches nominal face size and bed dimension as <br /> 16 shown on the Drawings. Maximum weights of individual units shall be 30 pounds. <br /> n '1e B. Concrete bar reinforcement in sizes No. 3 (3/8 inch) and larger shall be deformed steel bars <br /> 41 of the sizes and shapes indicated on the Drawings. The steel shall be newly rolled stock <br /> 42 of domestic manufacture, substantially free from mill scale, rust, dirt, grease, or other <br /> 43 foreign matter.
