' 1 2.10 NOISE REQUIREMENTS <br /> 2 <br /> 3 A. All equipment shall be capable of continuous operation without producing noise in excess <br /> 4 of Hydraulic Institute and OSHA guidelines. <br /> s <br /> 6 B. In the event that sound tests show levels in excess of the allowable limits, appropriate field <br /> 7 noise reduction measures shall be undertaken to reduce the noise levels to the allowable <br /> 6 limits. All field noise reduction measures shall be made at the Contractor's expense and <br /> 9 shall be acceptable to the Engineer prior to installation. Rated capacities, operation and <br /> ' o normal maintenance procedures of the equipment shall not be affected by the noise <br /> 11 reduction measures. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 <br /> ' 14 PART 3: EXECUTION <br /> 15 <br /> 16 3.01 EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION <br /> 1 17 <br /> 1e A. Belt Driven Equipment: Mount with motors on common steel base with adjustable motor <br /> 19 mount. <br /> ' 20 <br /> 21 B. Pumps: Align pump and motor. Completely fill steel and cast iron pump bases with <br /> 22 concrete grout after properly set. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 C. Install equipment so nameplates are visible. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 D. Basis for equipment and material installation is the published recommendations of <br /> ' 27 manufacturer. Submit such recommendations for review. <br /> 2e <br /> 2e E. Pipelines and other connections to mechanical equipment shall be installed square and <br /> 30 shall not put in strain or use the equipment for support unless it is specifically designed <br /> ' 31 for it. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 3.02 IDENTIFICATION <br /> 34 <br /> 35 A. Provide manufacturers' nameplates on all equipment, identifying manufacturer's name, <br /> 36 model number, size, capacity, and electrical characteristics. <br /> 37 <br /> ' 3e B. Leave all manufacturers' nameplates clean and legible. Install all equipment so view of <br /> 39 nameplates is not obstructed. <br /> 40 <br /> ' 41 C. Identify all equipment with symbol number and service as shown. Identification shall be on <br /> 42 1-1/4 inch by 3 inch, or larger nameplates, securely fastened to equipment. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 D. Provide engraved identification of function on switches and manually operable controls. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 3.03 CLEANING <br /> 47 <br /> ' 4e A. During progress of work, keep premises reasonably free of debris, cuttings, and waste <br /> 49 material.
