2 PART 3: EXECUTION <br /> 3 <br /> a 3.01 SURFACE CONDITIONS <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Examine the areas and conditions under which work of this Section will be performed. <br /> z Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of the Work. Do not <br /> e proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. <br /> s <br /> 10 3.02 INSTALLATION <br /> 11 <br /> 12 A. General: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 1. Install plumbing fixtures of the types indicated where shown and at mounting heights <br /> 15 indicated on Architectural Drawings in accordance with the fixture manufacturer's <br /> 16 written instructions, roughing-in drawings, and with recognized industry practices. <br /> ' 17 Ensure that plumbing fixtures comply with requirements and serve intended purposes. <br /> 18 Comply with applicable requirements of the Uniform Building Code pertaining to the <br /> 19 installation of plumbing fixtures. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 2. Thoroughly clean items before installation. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 3. Show no tool marks or threads on exposed plated, polished, or enameled connections <br /> ' 24 from fixtures. Tape all finished surfaces to prevent damage during construction. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 4. In all cases where plumbing fixtures are mounted on or against building walls of <br /> 27 concrete or other materials having relatively rough or non-planer surfaces, it shall be <br /> 28 the responsibility of this contractor to provide any necessary grout or backing materials <br /> 29 required to facilitate fixture mounting and eliminate void spaces between fixtures and <br /> 30 wall to ensure adequate bearing contact. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 5. Make connections between fixtures and flanges on soil pipe with absolutely gas-tight <br /> 33 and watertight bowl wax. Rubber gaskets or putty will not be allowed. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 B. Plumbing Fixture Hangers and Supports: Install wall-hung lavatory in stud wall with <br /> 36 concealed arms and floor support, with feet of support securely anchored to floor. In <br /> 37 addition, anchor top of support to wall construction in an approved manner. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 3.03 CLEANING <br /> 40 <br /> ' 41 Clean plumbing fixtures of dirt and debris upon completion of installation. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 3.04 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> 44 <br /> as Upon completion of installation of plumbing fixtures and after units are water pressurized, <br /> 46 test fixtures to demonstrate capability and compliance with requirements.
