t
r
e. Bypass switches shall be provided to allow bypassing any of the four above time
delays during testing.
I 10. Contacts shall be provided for starting the engine when the normal source fails. The
contacts shall be double pole double throw (DPDT), and compatible with low voltage
engine start signals.
11. A manual switch shall be provided to allow selection between commit/no-commit on
transfer to emergency once the engine is signaled to start and the normal source restores
' before actual transfer. This switch shall be factory set in the no-commit position.
12. The controller shall commit-to-start engine which requires the engine to reach proper
output and run at least the duration of the cooldown setting, regardless of whether the
load is transferred.
13. Separate signal lights indicating when the switch is in the normal position, when the
switch is in the emergency position shall be provided. Provide incandescent type lights
with push-too-test feature, in oil-tight units with lenses. Nameplates shall be provided
with each light to identify each light's function. Provisions shall be made to allow these
lights to be mounted on the motor control center door.
14. Two auxiliary contacts shall be provided. One that closes when the switch is in the
normal position and one that closes when the switch is in the emergency position. These
auxiliary contacts shall be rated 1 amps at 120 volts.
1 15. Circuitry shall be provided to allow for connection of a remote contact to inhibit transfer
to emergency source and/or retransfer to normal source, ignoring the associated timing
relays.
' 16. A two position test switch shall be provided to simulate normal source failure. A
nameplate shall be provided with the switch to identify its function. Provisions shall be
made to allow this switch to be mounted on the motor control center compartment door.
' 17. All adjustments shall be fully field adjustable without the use of tools, meters, power
supplies, or special test equipment.
' 18. Each adjustment resolution shall be settable within minimum increments of 1%.
' 19. Repetitive accuracy of timer, voltage and frequency settings over a temperature range
of-20°C to 70°C shall be within+/-2%.
ELECTRICAL
16000- 43
