labor in any calendar day, and forty (40) hours of labor <br /> in any calendar week, from any person employed by him in <br /> the performance of the work under this contract , except <br /> ' as permitted under the provisions of Section 1815, of the <br /> Labor Code of the State of California. The Contractor <br /> shall forfeit, as penalty to the Agency twenty- five <br /> dollars ( $25) for each workman employed by him or any <br /> subcontractor under him in the execution of the contract <br /> for each calendar day during which any workman is <br /> required or permitted to labor more than eight (8) hours <br /> and for each calendar week during which any workman is <br /> required or permitted to labor more than forty ( 40 ) <br /> hours, in violation of the provisions of such Labor Code. <br /> ' b. Prevailing !Me - The California Director of Industrial <br /> Remotions has determined the general prevailing rate of <br /> wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker <br /> needed to execute the contract , pursuant to the labor <br /> Code of the State of California . The prevailing rate of <br /> wages is made a part of the contract for all purposes. <br /> Copies of this Wage Determination are available at the <br /> administrative offices of the Agency . The Contractor <br /> shall obtain and post a copy of said wage rate at each <br /> ' site of work. <br /> The Contractor shall forfeit, as penalty to the <br /> Agency, $25 for each day or portion thereof , for each <br /> workman paid less than the stipulated prevailing rates <br /> for any work done under the contract by him or by any <br /> subcontractor under him, in violation of the provisions <br /> of such Labor Code . The provisions of Section 1775 of <br /> said Labor Code shall be complied with. <br /> C. Labor Discrimination - Attention is directed to Section <br /> 17 of the Labor Code of the State of California, which <br /> reads as follows: <br /> "No discrimination shall be made in the employment of <br /> persons upon public works because of the race , national <br /> origin or ancestry, or religion of such persons and every <br /> ' contractor for public works violating this section is <br /> subject to all the penalties imposed for a violation of <br /> this chapter . " <br /> d. Apprentices - Attention is directed to the provisions in <br /> Section 1777 . 5 (Chapter 1411, Statues of 1968) and 1777 . 6 <br /> of the Labor Code concerning the employment of <br /> apprentices by the Contractor or any subcontractor under <br /> him. <br /> Section 1777 . 5, as amended, requires the Contractor or <br /> subcontractor employing tradesmen in any apprenticeable <br /> G-23 <br />
