2353 Taste Rd, Tracy
Page 2
• AGE reported the prevailing ground water flow direction to be generally northward in this area.
Since MTBE has been detected in a grab water sample taken from B8, which is located south of the
former UST area, ground water flow at the site may not be northerly. Repeatable monitoring
points are necessary in order to assess and monitor the level of contaminant concentration in the
ground water and to determine flow direction of the ground water. PHS/EHD agrees with AGE's
recommendation to install ground water monitoring wells. PHS/EHD recommends installing
short screen interval wells that are specific to a single continuous lithological zone.
Submit a work plan to install ground water monitoring wells, to define the vertical and horizontal
extent of the contamination by August 1, 1999. The work plan must include the well survey.
If you have any questions please contact Jeffrey Wong at(209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Division
C",
Jeffrey Won , REHS Margaret agorio,16
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit N Supervisor
C: RWQCB, Central Valley Region-Mark List
C.
