Copies of sperlt lead cid battery disposal records were not found on site. The generator shall <br /> retain on site legibI copy °, each manifest or bill of lading which identifies spent lead acid batteries <br /> shipped to a person who stbres, uses, recycles, or reclaims the batteries or their components. <br /> Immediately locate a copy of all disposal records for spent lead acid batteries for the last three years. <br /> 305. Failed to maintain all communication/alarm systems, spill control or decontamination equipment. A <br /> yellow plastic spill pallet used to contain spills from the solvent parts washer located outdoors of the <br /> Auto Shop. The spill pallet i storing one-third full of oily liquid substance. All facility communication/ <br /> alarm systems, fire protecti n equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, shall <br /> be tested and maintained a necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Spill pallets <br /> must be maintain dry and e pty at all time to ensure there is adequate storage in case of release. <br /> Immediately remove all haz rdous substance from spill pallet and manage it according to Title 22 <br /> hazardous waste regulation . <br /> 407. An empty hazardous waste container was not marked with date it was emptied and not managed <br /> within one year of being emptied. An empty 55 gallon metal drum labeled "paint related material" was <br /> observed in the storage room of the wood shop. This is the same drum that was seen last year by the <br /> previous EHD inspectors. According to the wood shop teacher, this container has been there for several <br /> years unused. Containers lalrger than 5 gallons that previously held hazardous materials shall be marked <br /> as empty with date they were emptied and managed within 1 year of being empty. Immediately have this <br /> drum be recycled ar�d provi'ile a disposal receipt. <br /> 605. Failed to completely la el tanks of hazardous waste. One large metal tank approximately 300 <br /> gallons of used oil stored o tdoors within a locked fence of the auto shop is lacking a start accumulation <br /> date. The hazardou�waste abel is placed in a location where the sunlight will fade any writings. All <br /> hazardous waste tanks mus be clearly marked and visible the start accumulation date and words <br /> "Hazardous Waste".
