Failed to corr pletely label containers of hazardous waste. One gallon plastic milk jug <br /> storing "Metal Waste Cu, Ile, Al, Ag" and a glass beaker of"Waste Benedicts" in Room E112, Chemical <br /> Storage room, lacks a lid/ ver and no label identification. This is the same milk jug seen last year by <br /> the previous EHD inspectors. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when <br /> adding or removing waste to avoid accidental release of substance. All hazardous waste containers shall <br /> be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste", 2. name and address of generator, 3. hazardous properties <br /> 4. physical state, 5. composition (contents), 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately close these co tainers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not <br /> adding or removing waste nd label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers <br /> are marked with all the req ired information. Since this milk jug and its contents had accumulated since <br /> last year, immediately have a licensed hazardous waste hauler remove this container. Provide EHD <br /> disposal manifest for the re oval of"Metal Waste Cu, Fe, Al, Ag". <br /> 804,808. Failed to sore U lamps in closed container and in manner that prevents breakage and <br /> release to the environment. Failed to label universal waste identifying type of universal waste. A box of <br /> fluorescent tubes and a bo of metal halides and high pressure sodium bulbs were found in the theater <br /> veranda. There were some uorescent tubes not stored in a closed structurally sound container. <br /> Electronic devices, such as computer monitors and CPUs were found in Staff Work Room of Bldg A and <br /> Chemical Room of Bldg E. aste fluorescent tubes, compact halogen lights and alkaline batteries were <br /> found in Janitorial Rooms o Bldg A. A universal waste generator shall label or mark universal waste with <br /> the words "Universal Waste' and type of waste (alkaline batteries, mercury containing equipment, <br /> fluorescent bulbs, electroni devices, CRTs). Immediately label these waste and ensure all universal <br /> waste are labeled with the r quired information. Have the fluorescent tubes and other universal waste <br /> items be properly ctntents <br /> tained in a structurally sound container, adequate to prevent breakage and <br /> compatible with its <br /> 902,907. Failed to keep containers storing aerosol cans closed, or use a container that is structurally <br /> sound and compatib a withontents of aerosol cans. Failed to mark container storing aerosol cans as <br /> "Universal Waste-Arosol c ns", "Waste Aerosol Cans" or "Used Aerosol Cans". Several waste aerosol <br /> cans were found in cardboa d boxes located in Janitorial rooms of Bldg A. Waste aerosol cans must be <br /> accumulated in a clMnt�sin <br /> edt cturally sound container, and compatible with contents of the universal <br /> waste aerosol can. r storing aerosol cans shall be clearly labeled within one of the above <br /> mentioned phrases. ans must be accumulated by type and compatibility of contents.
