• <br /> 11 . A copy of the legal description is included as EXHIBIT C. <br /> GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: <br /> The property is located in a predominantly industrial area in <br /> southwest Stockton. It abuts Navy Drive on the north, and is <br /> adjacent to Tillie Lewis Drive on the west . Charter Way, (State <br /> Highway 5, ) is a short distance to the south. Interstate 5 is <br /> about 1 mile to the east, and the Port of Stockton is 1/2 mile to <br /> the north. Refer to PLATE I for details . <br /> GEOLOGIC & GEOMORPHIC PROVINCE: <br /> The properties are located in the southwestern portion of the <br /> Sacramento Valley, which is the northern part of what is referred <br /> to as the Great Valley of California. The area is one of very <br /> low relief, with a surface elevation of about 51 . Drainage is to <br /> the west towards the San Joaquin River. The Port of Stockton <br /> Deep Water Channel Turning Basin is one mile to the north. PLATE <br /> II is from a USGS topographic map which gives more details of the <br /> area. <br /> • DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER: <br /> Based upon San Joaquin Control Flood Control District maps, <br /> groundwater was approximately 20 ' bgl during the Spring of 1994 . <br /> As shown on PLATE III, it was was high 13 ' bgl in the Spring of <br /> 1986 . <br /> SOIL PROFILE : <br /> Based upon a publication by the University of California, the <br /> soil in this area is identified as Sacramento silty clay. It is <br /> developed on recent alluvial fans or flood plain deposits from <br /> mixed sources . It is generally dark gray in color, with good to <br /> imperfect drainage . The Storie Index is 57 . PLATE IV is a <br /> portion of that publication showing soil types in the area. <br /> PRIOR USE OF SITE COVERED IN THIS REPORT: <br /> The removed tank containing hydraulic fluid was associated with a <br /> vertical hoist used in the manufacture of doors. The hoist will <br /> continue be used, but the hydraulic fluid storage tank will be <br /> located above the concrete floor of the building so that any <br /> leakage can be easily detected and cleaned up. EXHIBITS E & F <br /> show the layout of the building where the lift is located. PLATE <br /> V shows the construction of the hoist & location of the hydraulic <br /> • fluid tank. <br /> 2 <br />
