i
iQuarterly Report - Third Quarter 2002
• THREE B'S TRUCK PLAZA
i14749 Thornton Road, Lodi, California
i1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
i Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for 14749 North
Thornton Road (the site), Lodi, California The scope of work included conducting a quarterly
groundwater monitoring event and preparation of this report The objective was to monitor dissolved
i petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water and to characterize ground water flow
direction and gradient on the site The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Site structures and
momtonng well locations are depicted in Figure 2
iThis report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the California Regional Water
Quality Control Board-Central Valley Region(RWQCB)for investigation of underground storage
i tank(UST) sites A summary of previous investigations at the site was included in Preliminary Site
Investigation and Evaluation Report-November 1996, dated 20 June 1997, prepared by AGE
i2 0. PROCEDURES
lie On 04 & 05 September 2002, ground water monitoring and sampling were performed at the site on
ground water momtonng wells MW-1 through MW-6 (Figure 2), monitoring well construction
details are summarized in Table 1 Groundwater monitoring procedures were outlined in Work Plan
Addendum - October 1998, dated 14 October 1998, prepared by AGE and approved by the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) by letter dated 21 December 1998
At the request of the RWQCB, Three B's Truck Plaza's ground water monitoring events have been
coordinated to occur concurrently with the Flag City Chevron's(6421 Capitol Avenue) monitoring
Ievents, the Flag City Chevron tabulated ground water elevation results are included in Appendix A
I2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
On 04 September 2002, depth to ground water was measured in each well from the top of each well
casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter The ground water elevation in
each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the surveyed
casing elevation(Table 1) Ground water elevations were plotted and contoured on a scaled site map
(Figure 3)
On 05 September 2002, between 3 and 32/3 gallons of ground water (a minimum of three casing-
water volumes per well) were evacuated (purged) from wells MW-1 through MW-5 utilizing
disposable polyethylene bailers Approximately 2 to 3 gallons of water were purged from MW-6
0 before the well was purged"dry" Temperature,pH and conductivity were measured for stabilization
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
