02 February 2000
. AGE-NC Project No 97-0249
- Ground water flow direction at the site in November 1999 appeared to be oriented towards
the east at a gradient of 0 0009
The ground water elevation at the site was within the screened Interval of wells MW-1
through MW-6
Ground water elevations Increased at the site an average 2 77 feet from August to November
1999
From August 1999 to November 1999, a substantial Increase in concentrations of dissolved
TPH and BTEX was quantified in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1,MW-2,
MW-3, MW-5 and MW-6 (Table 2), MW-4 remained at non-detectable TPH and BTEX
levels from August 1999 to November 1999
- The highest MTBE concentrations were encountered in the ground water samples collected
from wells MW-4 and MW-6 (See Figure 6), initial MTBE detections were encountered at
wells MW-1 and MW-2
- Laboratory results of grab ground water samples suggest that there does not appear to be a
detectable MTBE-Impact to the domestic drinking water well at this time
lie ® The lateral extent of the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon plume is not known toward the
southwest, west, northwest, north and northeast of the current area bound by wells MW-1
through MW-6
- The elevated petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected in water samples collected from
wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-6 (screened between 5 and 25 feet bsg) suggest that
these wells may be screened within or near the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon"core area"
of the plume
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected during November 1999, AGE recommends
- Installation of additional ground water monitoring wells southwest, west, northwest, north
and northeast of the current area bound by wells MW-1 through MW-6 to assess the lateral
extent of the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon plume (See Figure 2)
- Continued quarterly ground water monitoring The next quarterly monitoring and sampling
event Is tentatively scheduled for 25 February 2000
- Continued utilization of wells MW-1 through MW-6 for characterization of ground water
• conditions at the site
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
